I just had an end-user department head ask me, “Did you setup [the new girl] with e-Mail?  It’s [e-Mail address].com.” (As though I don’t know the domains I manage and haven’t been working here for the past 12+ years.)

Me:  “Didn’t you see the e-Mail I sent you saying she was ready to go?”

Him:  “Yeah, I saw that but didn’t see her cc’ed on it.”

Why in the hell would I e-Mail a new user telling them they were set up for e-Mail, knowing that they would have to actually open their e-Mail to read the e-Mail saying they had e-Mail?  Oh, my God!  I mean, I get that the average person deems most of IT smoke and mirrors, magic; sorcery!  But why in the hell would I e-Mail someone telling them they had e-Mail?
